When you get swelling in the anal tissue, it will cause pain that pain is the hemorrhoid. Or more specific the swelling is the hemorrhoid, and you can help take that swelling and inflammation down with a few things.

Most frequently the strain of a bowel movement is what will cause that hemorrhoid in the first place. Since that is the case, you may need to make your stool a bit softer. In order to accomplish that you can simply head to a farmer’s market and buy fiber rich food.

Or if you want a different way to add in fiber to the diet, buy a fiber supplement. You can actually find these in the form of a pill now. And even if you buy a mix that you add to water, they taste decent now. It’s not like the taste when fiber supplements first came out on the market. You won’t have to suffer through drinking the equivalent to sandpaper.

Even when you are suffering from hemorrhoids it’s a good idea to add fiber into your diet. It will allow your stool to be softer, and it will hurt a lot less when you have a bowel movement. Using fiber and some other treatment will have you better in no time flat.

You will want to find something that will help with pain. If you have a hemorrhoid inside you need a suppository. Outside hemorrhoids you will use a cream for. But don’t buy one of these without finding out if it has Witch Hazel in the ingredients. This herb has shown to help with swelling, which will help in speeding up the cure of your hemorrhoid.

There are two more herbs that you should look into when suffering from hemorrhoids. They are horse chestnut, and butchers broom. Both will help with the swelling that is occurring, and you can take them as a pill, or drink a tea made of them.

The first thing you should do is start eating food high in fibre, or taking bulking agents such as Metamucil. If you are constipated you should also be taking a form of laxative to help soften your stool and get your bowels moving again. Ground flax seeds can be a good natural alternative to laxatives and are a good option if you’re finding your intestines are becoming irritated from using laxatives.

Run a warm bath and add a cup of anti inflammatory chamomile or comfrey tea. This will help with inflammation and ease the pain. Take a cool shower after you’ve finished your bath.

There are various creams which are anti-inflammatory such as Preparation H, these can give you relief from the symptoms, but don’t cure the root of the problem like a product like Venepro can.

If you have more severe hemorrhoids you can have a procedure performed called ligation. This is where your doctor ties a small rubber band tightly around the base of the hemorrhoid (external) which cuts off the blood flow resulting in the hemorrhoid dying and dropping off. (Reminiscent of having your cat neutered!)

If none of these hemorrhoid treatments work, a final option is for your doctor or surgeon to perform a surgical procedure to remove the hemorrhoids. This is usually a last option and only performed if your hemorrhoids are very hard or painful or the bleeding will  not stop.

The most common symptom of hemorrhoids is pain while moving your bowels. Hemorrhoids are often the result of straining too hard when you are trying to move your bowels, or because of constipation. These hemorrhoids that form from difficult bowel movements are very common and often clear up by themselves within a few days. You can aid your hemorrhoid treatment by including a lot of fibre into your diet to make your stools soft.

If you are experiencing pain while seated you may have hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids can be painful and uncomfortable when you are seated for an extended period of time. Hemorrhoids are veins which have beome inflamed and irritated, much the same as varicose veins.

If you are finding your anus or rectum is becoming itchy or is beginning to tingle, these are early signs of hemorrhoids developing. Keep a close watch to make sure you catch the hemorrhoids early and start good hemorrhoid treatment.

If you have noticed bleeding from your anus then you should see your doctor immediately. While bleeding from the anus is a common symptom of hemorrhoids, it is also a symptom of colon cancer.  You should always seek your doctors advice if you are concerned.

Veins poking out of your anus is usually a prolapsed hemorrhoid, which is an internal hemorrhoid that has been pushed to the outside. These type of hemorrhoids will most likely need surgical treatment and can be extremely painful.

If any of these symptoms sound familiar to you, you should begin your hemorrhoid treatment immediately. If you would prefer to treat your hemorrhoids yourself at home, there are many good treatments available which provide excellent hemorrhoid relief. But if the symptoms persist and you aren’t having any luck with your home treatments, you will have to bite the bullet and see your doctor.

In some cases and internal hemorrhoid can be pushed through the anus to be visible from the outside, this is a prolapsed internal hemorrhoid and is very painful.

A thrombosed external hemorrhoid is a blood clot that has formed inside an external hemorrhoid, these are extremely painful and feel like a firm mass about the size of a pea.
